Thecounty government of Uasin Gishu is planning to announce new measures to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the devolved unit.

Governor Jackson Mandago says he will, in the next few days, announce the new measures to be imposed in the county.

According to Mandago, the new measures will be strict and stringent.

Among the areas the no nonsense county boss seeks to focus on in his new measures to be adhered within the county is limiting the number of speakers in funerals.

This, he says, will help ensure the funeral programs are as short as possible.

"There is a general directive on the number of people to attend a funeral but we need to make such functions short which can be achieved through limiting number of people that will be speaking," Mandago said on Saturday, while in Turbo Sub County.

The Governor also called on all Kenyans to strictly adhere to the Covid-19 protocols that the government has put in place in a bid to help curb the spread of the pandemic.

Some of the protocols include need for everyone to wear masks, regular hand washing and keeping social distance.
