New Kid on The Block: Nikola Jokic Named 2021 NBA MVP
The 2014 41st draft pick Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic has been named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player.

He becomes the fifth international player to win the award after Hakeem Olajuwon in 1994, Steve nash in 2005 and 2006, Dirk Nowitzki in 2007, and Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2019 and 2020 beating out the competition from the Golden State Warrior’s Steph Curry and Philadelphia 76ers ace Joel Embiid.
The 26-year old Serbian center takes the season MVP honors after the 2020/21 campaign which has seen him average a career campaign best of 26.4 per game with 8.3 assists and 10.8 rebounds.
“Star wise, you know, I think this was the best season of my life,” Jokic after the announcement of the award.
