On Monday, Kasavuli made a request where she asked Kenyans to visit the Kenyatta National Hospital and donate blood for her.

Kasavuli had been admitted to the hospital as she was battling cervical cancer.  She shared on a social media post that the preceding month had been difficult for her.

"Last one month has been crazy for me, I want to take this moment and appreciate my family, colleagues in the media industry, the Catherine Kasavuli Foundation team, my doctors, friends, strangers, and online community; I wish I could respond to all your messages, I see them and I am really humbled. May God remember you,” she wrote.

She continued by expressing gratitude to those who helped with her medical bills and those individuals who were kind enough to donate blood on her behalf.

"To special people that have come forth to donate blood may God bless you, may he enrich your beautiful souls, may He meet with the desires of your heart. To special souls that are contributing towards my medical bill, I love you so much and God bless you” she added

Kasavuli describes herself as a cancer survivor and told other cancer victims to never give up and keep fighting.

"To anyone fighting the same struggle - I love you, we shall overcome, life is a beautiful thing and we shall live to tell our stories. God bless you.” she posted.
