Noordin Haji Withdraws Case Against Azimio Leaders

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji had accused six of the Azimio la Umoja leaders of unlawful assembly and malicious damage of property. The group, constisted of Amina Laura Mnyazi of Malindi, George Yogo Obure, James Opiyo Wandayi, Esther Oromi, Richard Chonga and Kilifi Senetor Stewart Madzayo. 

Haji has withdrawn all the accusations from  the six at Kahawa Law Courts where he also promised  to withdraw more than 200 cases against the Azimio la Umoja supporters nationally. 

Those who appeared before Kibera and Makadara Law Courts are going to be released. Lawyer  Danstan Omari explained that the court has accepted to release  and their bonds refunded. He has also pointed out that the charges were not legal and that their release will bring peace and unity in the cointry.

This comes after the Azimio ;la Umoja leader, Raila Odinga demanded the unconditional release to those who were arrested while demonstrating.  Raila gave these directives while he was calling off the Monday mass action.
