However, several of his family members have been in politics and have been taking part in the active politics ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

They have since disclosed name of a top politician they will be supporting in the forthcoming August general elections though the politician is less known.

They have unveiled one Joseph Kiragu to succeed the current Member of Parliament Honourable Gichuki Mugambi who succeeded Mary Wambui in the 2017 general elections.

Speaking in Othaya, Kiragu said that he will not peg his expected victory on President Kibaki’s support and neither will he ride on wealth or his prominence in the constituency.

Among the active family members is Laikipia county governor Nderitu Muriithi who is the nephew of the former president Mwai Kibaki and also a top Azimio la Umoja Movement supporter.
