ODM candidate Pavel Oimeke is now Kisii's Bonchari constituency new Member of Parliament elects.

Pavel Oimeke, who is the former Energy Petroleum Regulatory Authority director, garnered 8,049 votes to take the victory.

Jubilee Party's Zebedeo Opore obtained 7,279 votes to take the second position while UDA's Teresa Bitutu took the third position with 6,964 votes.

On Tuesday, Oimeke had to go through what he described as the' sweltering heat of intimidation and harassment of many of his supporters to secure sweet victory'.

Bonchari's win provided the ODM party with a new platform to consolidate its new gains in Kisii in the future.

It is the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) first seat parliamentary seat for the party after a loss in 2018.

No other legislature apart from Senator Sam Ongeri and Woman rep were elected on the ODM ticket.
