La Liga’s Real Madrid has confirmed that Sergio Ramos will be leaving the club after spending 16 years at Santiago Bernabéu.

Sergio Ramos will appear at the Ciudad Deportiva to confirm the decision with his contract which is due to expire June 30th. No contract extension has been agreed upon between the player and the club.

Real Madrid offered the defender a one-year deal with a 10% salary reduction but Ramos was looking for at least a two-year contract.

Real Madrid announced on Wednesday 16th June that they will be conducting an institutional act of tribute and farewell to captain Sergio Ramos on Thursday 17th at 12:30 pm in an occasion which will be attended by President Florentino Perez.

Ramos will be appearing before the media in a virtual press conference.

In his Real Madrid career, Sergio Ramos played for 16 seasons making 671 appearances and scoring 101 goals.
