Stephen Mbugua, the Secretary Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Thika Chapter, got an alarm on a deliberate terror attack in Thika Law Courts.

Following this incident all the activities within the court area came to a halt.

A large number of armed police officers were spotted guarding various places.

" We have just received information from the Head of Station, Thika Law Courts, that the National Intelligence Service received an alert of an alledged terror attack in Thika Law Courts [on Wednesday, March 2], and this explains the heavy presence of police from various departments in the premises today," said LSK Thika Chapter Secretary Stephen Mbugua in a communication to lawyers assigned to the Thika Law Courts on Wednesday.

'We wish to inform you that the situation is being handled by the security forces, and all court sessions will commence at 10 am," Mbugua's message to lawyers continued.

"To stop any terror attempts, we have to mobilize a multi-agency of police personnel," said Thika Police Boss Daniel Kinyua.

Early Wednesday in Thika, an emergency security meeting was conducted to prepare deployment both inside and outside the court house.

"I can't say how many officers have been assigned to the task, but rest assured that we are in command," Kinyua stated.

Several people who were hoping to get access to the court services were also evacuated from the premises.
