According to Gazzertta, the forward player makes a rare switch to Lazio after Roma released him for free.

Pedro Joins Lazio from AS Roma on a Free Transfer

Pedro’s contact with the Giallorossi wasn’t set to expire until 2023 but the 34-year-old has agreed to a two-year deal with Lazio in a deal worth €2m a year.

Roma is currently in need of balancing their books after becoming burgeoned with debts and former £6.8million over the next two seasons.

The striker also waived his month’s wages owed by Roma for August.

Roma was unwilling to sell or loan Pedro abroad as they would lose tax breaks with the cost potentially amounting to €3.5million.

The low-cost transfer also favors Lazio as the Biancocelesti haven’t been able to register new players unless President Claudio pumps £8.5milion into the club.

Pedro only joined Roma last summer after his Chelsea contract expired but has been deemed surplus to requirement since Mourinho’s arrival in the club.
