A viral photo of "a schoolboy" in Vihiga county's Azimio La Umoja Campain has elicited conflicting comments on social media.

According to details by Bright Kenyan news, the boy identified as Jacob Kavai was pictured while in Azimio la Umoja rally in Vihiga county showing his full support for the former prime minister Raila Amollo Odinga.

Kenyans on social media, on the other side, were outraged that the youngster was being used, claiming that he was supposed to be in school and not at rallies.

In the rally Murang`a women representative, Sabina Chege promised to take Jacob back to school in her speech. Jacob can be seen taking over the microphone where he began imitating the Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga.

In his address, the child urges Vihiga locals to vote for Raila Odinga, whom he believes will be Kenya's fifth president.

"This William Ruto is lying to us with wheelbarrows"

Jacob didn't hesitate from telling Mombasa governor Hassan Joho his problems.

"Governor Joho I need you to help me I am the bread winner in my family i need to go back to school"

Joho responded back by offering to help Jacob get back to school and continue with his studies.

Jacob's tale was covered by a local media house in the country in 2021, putting him in the spotlight.

To support his family, Jacob, a 12-year-old child, would go to local marketplaces in Chavakali town to preach, entertain, and pray to the residents. He claimed he was doing it to assist his ailing father and elderly grandma.

Jacob is a former pupil of Nambale urban in Busia county before he was taken to a special school since he was talkative unfortunately he later dropped out since he felt he wasn't paralyzed and never needed any special attention.

His dad was hit by a stroke and his mum is late. He preaches for people on the streets and brings money to his grandma to help with their household bills.
