Deputy President-Elect, Rigathi Gachagua, ANC party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, and Ford Kenya party leader, Moses Wetangula among other Kenya Kwanza leaders were present in receiving the leaders.

According to a top DEP official, the 13 Meru County Assembly MCAs elected on the DEP ticket and 13 elected on the United Democratic Alliance ticket were holed up in a meeting at Ruto's Karen residence on Friday morning.

Murungi faced a barrage of attacks from UDA supporters and the party wave in Meru before the August 9 elections, with Ruto urging him to leave Raila Odinga's Azimio La Umoja coalition, but he had refused.

Here are some photos of the leaders who have today joined the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
