In Narok, boda boda riders scrambled for fuel at stations in the CBD and at a point, police had to be called in to restore order.

Some boda boda operators opted to sleep at fuel stations, in the hopes of securing the commodity.

Queues were also witnessed in Kirinyaga county, as boda boda riders flocked to stations to get fuel.

A similar situation was witnessed in Murang'a town, where boda boda operators were seen carrying jerrycans as they queued for fuel for hours.

In Nairobi, residents woke up early on Wednesday morning, in the hopes of securing fuel, with some saying their Easter plans were likely to change if they did not get enough of the commodity to travel.

Queues were seen at petrol stations as early as 5 am, with rationing being the order of the day.

Several Kenyans have complained about the fuel shortage, raising concerns it is artificial with prices expected to go up during the next review on April 14.
