A 22-year-old student from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Eli Kipruto Rotich, studying information technology has amazed many after emerging as the winner in the Betika mega Jackpot.

Eli was announced as the winner of the huge sum of money by the company today. According to sources, the young man had placed a bet of Kshs. 49 which turned out to be a blessing on his account. He had also predicted 17 matches correctly.

He is the first millionaire from the betting company after it revamped its 100 million Grand Jackpot.

Kipruto is set to receive Kshs. 160 million with the remainder of Kshs. 40 million going to taxes. This is a result of the jackpot being subject to 20 percent withholding tax.

Other winners who predicted 12 to 16 matches correctly were also not left behind as they received bonuses. A free bet was also awarded to those who correctly predicted 11 matches and Kshs. 2,814 was awarded to those who correctly predicted none.
