Police Have Arrested 14 People In Connection With The Stoning Of Raila's Helicopter

Fourteen people have been arrested in connection with the stoning of Raila Odinga's chopper at Kabenes after the funeral of Mzee Kibor in Uasin Gishu.

Commissioner Stephen Kihara of Uasin Gishu County stated those arrested have provided details about the event.

He went on to say that the incident was planned by significant political figures in the region.

According to Kihara, the politicians would be arrested as a lesson to others.

On Saturday, he stated, "We will not allow that to happen in our nation, and anyone who does so will not be tolerated."

According to the County Commissioner, investigations are ongoing to guarantee that anyone implicated is apprehended and charged.

After Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i authorized the National Police Service to investigate and arrest youngsters engaged in the stoning of ODM leader Raila Odinga's chopper on Friday, the arrests were made.

Matiang'i issued a statement condemning the incident and calling for the arrest of those who plotted it.

"I demand that the National Police Service examine the incident and ensure that all of the perpetrators and their masterminds face the repercussions of their criminal conduct immediately and decisively," he said.

According to the CS, such attacks return our country to the days it has worked hard to leave behind, which were marked by political intolerance.

"The unfortunate occurrence is a tragic and atavistic reminder of the ugly face of violent political intolerance that our beloved motherland has worked hard in the previous 14 years to consign to the annals of a terrible history," Matiang'i continued.
