Police from the Naivasha, Nakuru County, are looking for a woman who allegedly fled with her lover's vehicle, which had about Ksh 700,000 in cash.

According to sources close to the situation, the two arrived in Naivasha town from Narok on Saturday, June 11. During the weekend, the two were planning on having a good time.

The woman, however, managed to exit without her lover's knowledge on Sunday morning, June 12, in his vehicle, which had the cash. The money is claimed to have come from the selling of farm produce.

The man, who rushed to submit a police report, explained that he had spent hours exploring the area for his partner but had been unsuccessful.

"The man has reported the matter and also claimed that he had stashed more than Ksh, 700,000 inside the car," said a source within the police department revealed.

Detectives working on the investigation are attempting to piece together the circumstances of the incident, such as how the woman got away and whether or not she drugged the man before fleeing.

"We want to establish how the woman managed to slip away or if the man was drugged prior to the incident," added the source.

Theft cases involving stupefied revellers have been on the rise around the country, with police reporting that unwary victims have made repeated statements at different police stations.

Police said they were making good progress with the hope of recovering the stolen car.
