Police Officer Commits Suicide in a station
A 42-year-old police officer identified as Charles Maina committed suicide inside his house at Cianda Police Patrol Base in Kiambu County on Monday, August 30.

According to reports sourced by Bright Kenya news, the ordeal was reported by Anthony Mwangi, the officer in charge of the base, who found the body of the deceased.
"He found the body of the said officer hanging from a ventilation in his house within the Cianda Police Patrol Baseline,” the police report reads in part.
However, the Late Maina is believed to have hanged himself using a bag carrier belt that he had superimposed on a stick outside his house.
The scene was processed by DCI homicide investigators, who confirmed that the officer had left no suicide note. Furthermore, the deceased officer's body had no visible injuries, according to the authorities.
Maina's body was sent to the Kenyatta University Referral Hospital Mortuary, where an autopsy was scheduled.
