On Tuesday 23rd November, a graduate police officer passed out after receiving a monthly wage of 18 Kenya shillings.

It is alleged that the police fainted after the National Police Service (NPS) cut graduate police officers' salaries.

The salary cuts mean that officers who excelled in high school and gained degrees will receive the same amount of money as those who received a D+ on the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

This comes at a time Kenyan police officers threatened the government that if their recently Salary slash won’t be reviewed, they will join the deadly Al-Shabaab terror group since they have all the required tools.

From a viral video seen by Bright Kenyan news, a police officer whose identity was withheld said in an interview with a Switch TV journalist that the wage cut has put many police officers in temptations, which have formed the backbone of growing terror cases in the country.

This comes at a time police inspector General Hillary Mutyambai ordered that the Salary cut for police officers to begin on 7th November this year.
