Possible candidates for Blaugrana job.

Following the sack of Ronald Koeman, we take a look at some of the managers linked to the Barca job.

Possible candidates for Blaugrana job.

Xavì
The Former Barca maestro is the hot favourite for the job and has been linked ever since Valverdes exit from the Camp Nou.
After an unstable 14 months at the job and a recent tempestuous streak Koeman was sacked after the 1-0 loss to Rayo Vallecano that's left Barca ninth in La Liga Santander six points behind fierce adversaries Real Madrid who beat them during the weekend's El Clasico.
Xavi departed the Camp Nou in 2015 after being instrumental in Barcelona's recent success and dominant era helping them win 8x La Liga titles as 4x Champions Leagues. He was part of the club's golden generation alongside the likes of Gerard Pique, Lionel Messi and Andrès Iniesta.

The Spanish man finished his playing career with Qatari side Al Sadd and went a notch higher by becoming their manager as of 2019 leading them to 7 trophies.
Former Arsenal man Santi Carzola revealed to Marca this week his thoughts on the former Barca man.
"He wants the ball and we train on rondos, possession, position play - pure Barca school, to defend with the ball.
I think that he understands football that way and he practices it. It's not unique, but perhaps, in having the ball, Xavi is unique."

Roberto Martinez
The 48-year-old Spaniard is under contract with Belgium Red Devils until the end of 2022 World Cup but has been severly linked with a return to club management after 5 years on the international scene. Martinez has mentored Belgium's golden generation which boasts likes of Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku among others. The lot have been promising but have fell short in multiple occasions such as 2018 World Cup where they were bundled out in the semis 1-0 by eventual winners France but sealed third-place by outclassing England 2-0. In the recent concluded Euros they were eliminated yet again by another eventual winner in Italy. Martinez may be up to new pastures as he has done all he could with the Belgian 'Red Devils'.

Andrea Pirlo
The Former Juve man has been linked to Barca job despite just a year under his belt in Turin. The former Old Lady midfielder did scoop the Coppa Italia, but Juve finished a disappointing fourth on the final day of the season marking the end of a 10-year dominance in Italy.

Marcelo Gallardo is also linked and is claimed to be a particular favourite of Barca President Joan Laporta. The River plate manager boasts 12 Argentine titles and he highly favours the modern style of football.

Erik Ten Haag
Probably the last on everyone's lips, the Dutch manager should not be downplayed based on his club's performances. Ten Haag has led Ajax to 2 Eredivisie titles as well as 2019 semi-finals of the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.

He has a notch for developing youth and polishing young players from raw talent to refined products. Examples include Frenkie De Jong, Mathijs de Ligt, exiled United signing Donny Van De Beek as well as his current side that recently mouled Dortmund 5-0 in the Champions League that has seen rise to prominence of players such as Anthony, Noussair Mazraoui, Victor Jansen, Steven Berghuis and Ryan Gravenberch among others.
