President Kenyatta Criticized for Selective Appointment of Judges

President Kenyatta was on Thursday, June 3rd criticized after he selectively appointed the judges in a move that was described as cold war amid the Building Bridges Initiative ruling.

In a gazette notice dated  Thursday, June 3rd, the head of state- Kenyatta appointed 34 new judges and dropped six nominees despite a recommendation by the Judicial Service Commission.

Among the Judges who were rejected by President Uhuru Kenyatta were part of the high court judges who took part in the ruling of BBI as null, unconstitutional, and Void.

The judges were: George Odunga and Joel Ngugi.

Other judges who also failed to make it to the Court of Appeal were Weldon Korir and Aggrey Muchelule.

In addition, Magistrates Cheruiyot Judith Omange and Evans Makori were also pulled down from the High Court list.
