President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to lead Kenyans to bid their tributes to the Third president of the Republic of Kenya Emilio Mwai Kibaki.

On Monday, President Uhuru Kenyatta will lead Kenyans in viewing the body of the late, retired President Mwai Kibaki, as well as paying tribute and paying their last respects to the former Head of State, who died last week at the age of 90.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to arrive in parliament around 10 a.m., with all other state officials expected to arrive by 9 a.m.

Kibaki's body will lie in state at the parliament for three days before his state funeral on Friday, which will be conducted with full military honors and protocols.

The cortege will leave the Lee Funeral Home around 7.05 a.m. and will be transported to the Parliament Precincts draped in the national flag and on a gun carriage.

The casket will be escorted by the late Kibaki's immediate family.

At the same time, a Military Guard of Honor will be mounted along Parliament Road for the procession into Parliament, where President Uhuru Kenyatta will receive Kibaki's body at 10 a.m.

Meanwhile, diplomats, dignitaries, and close associates who wish to express their condolences to the family will be able to do so beginning Tuesday at Kibaki's private office in Nyari, Nairobi.

Members of the public will also be able to pay their condolences and fill out a condolence book at the Othaya CDF office.

Beginning Monday, condolence books will be available to the public in all government ministries, the National Assembly and the Senate, as well as the eight Regional and 47 County Commissioners offices across the country.

President Kenyatta announced Kibaki's death in a televised address from State House in Nairobi on Friday, ordering the country to observe a period of national mourning until sunset on the day of his interment.

President Kibaki will be expected to be laid at his Othaya Home on Saturday 30th April 2022 after a state funeral on friday 29th april 2022 at the Nyayo National Stadium.
