After being involved in the fatal crash, Kamoti died on the spot. The accident occurred when the MP's Toyota Prado lost control and rolled several times.

The tragic accident occurred on May 29, 2022, along the Mombasa/Malindi highway in the Mnarani area of Kilifi county.

According to one eyewitness, the rear wheel of the Prado came off, causing the vehicle transporting the Rabai MP to lose control and roll several times.

According to another eyewitness, Kamoti's car rolled while the driver attempted to overtake a lorry heading towards Mombasa.

According to Eric Nyamawi, who witnessed the accident, the MP's car was attempting to overtake a lorry when it collided with it, causing it to roll several times.

The Rabai MP was declared dead after efforts to rescue him failed. The victim's body was taken to Kilifi Referral Hospital's mortuary.

The Orange Democratic Party (ODM) confirmed Kamoti's death in a social media tweet. The Rabai MP was on his way to present his nomination papers to the Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) when he was involved in the accident, according to the party.
