Raila in Turkana to Preach BBI Gospel
Raila has been in the frontline campaigns in efforts to ensure the Building Bridges Initiative [BBI] agenda becomes a success. However, the document has not been easily received by its opponents who view it as a financial burden to Kenyans.
Orange Democratic Movement [ODM] party leader Raila Odinga has left the city to Turkana county where he is expected to spend the next three days.
The ODM principal is set to meet various ODM officials, youth and women groups, and finally, address a wananchi meeting at Lodwar Baraza Park.
The leader will also grace another meeting at Loima, before proceeding to Kakuma and Katulu in Turkana North. Then on Sunday, Raila will climax his tour with a Sunday service at Catholic Cathedral in Lodwar.
The main purpose of the visit according to close sources will be an attempt by Raila to sell out the Building Bridges Initiative [BBI], with a summarized version expected out soon.
Many Kenyans have lamented that the current BBI report is too bulk and hard to understand for many Kenyans. In response to Kenyans lamentations, the ODM leader pledged to ensure that a reviewed version has been availed to Kenyans.
Raila further slammed the BBI opponents, asking them to stop spreading lies over his national unity bid between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
