Raila Insists on Winning the Presidential Elections in August 2022
While addressing the media, Azimio la Umoja leader, Raila Odinga has come out to insist that he was the winner in the August 2022 presidential elections where the IEBC chairman, Wafula Chebukati declared President William Ruto as the winner.

Raila further claimed that he was the winner and that the truth of the results would eventually turn out. In addition, he also stated the criminal justice in the country was being corrupted which resulted in cases being dropped.
"I have been around with you for long. Millions of you voted for me in the last election. We won that election, the truth will come out, I know that," Raila stated.
"The criminal justice system is collapsing. That is why cases are rapidly being dropped, criminals are being celebrated and turned into prosecution witnesses," he added.
In the event, Raila also stated that President William Ruto was planning to rig the 2027 general elections as he has been suspending the four dissenting IEBC commissioners.
"Ruto wants to rig the 2027 election in 2022," Raila stated.
In a gazette notice on Friday, President Ruto stated that their suspension of the four IEBC commissioners; Juliana Cherera, Justus Nyang’aya, Francis Wanderi, and Irene Masit was effective immediately.
According to Raila, the new formula for appointing the electoral body's commissioners by Parliament on Thursday is not about integrity.
"The events in Parliament yesterday, on the formula of appointing IEBC commissioners and the hounding of the four commissioners, has got nothing to do with integrity, but about 2027,"
