Raila Odinga`s Message to Candidates as KCPE Commences

The Kenya certificate of primary Education has begun this morning on Monday 22nd. The Orange Democratic Movement Party Leader former prime minister Raila Odinga has thanked teachers for their selfless efforts ahead of KCPE and KCSE exams.

"After a disrupted school calendar year, our students begin sitting their exams today," "We wish them success and thank all their teachers for selflessly preparing them under the prevailing tough circumstances," he noted on his Twitter social media on Monday 22nd.

The exam has seen 1,187,517 candidates sitting for it. However, the exams are set to end on Wednesday afternoon where rehearsal will be done on Friday.

This comes at a time schools were closed from mid-march 2020 when eh deadly coronavirus pandemic had hit the country further forcing the closure of schools due to lack of social distancing and enough measures on how to curb the pandemic.

However, this year's exam is going to be a bit different from the previous years as it is going to be the first-time candidates will wear a face mask while in the examination room alongside other measures laid to curb the further spread of the virus.
