RAILA SET FOR RECOGNITION

There

has been an ongoing debate and speculation on naming one of the famous roads after Raila Odinga the father of democracy in Kenya.
The Nairobi county assembly minority whip has raised a motion to name a road after the former prime minister Honorable Raila Odinga and is to be raised today. He stated that Mr.Odinga was responsible for the project when he was the minister for roads and public work.
Imwatok said, “We should appreciate the leaders while still alive as opposed to when they died”
He argued that the contribution Raila has made to this country deserves recognition. The ODM leader spearheaded the fight for democracy in this great country alongside the former president Mwai Kibaki.
This notion has been in debate for a long time. It was first raised to parliament by the kangema MP Muturi Kigano seconded by Narok North MP Mr. Kenta arguing that Raila was a national icon and recognition was the only reward.
