Odinga's tour aims at drumming up support for his presidential bid in August among the international community, as he promotes his vision for the country if he wins.

The Azimio La Umoja leader will begin his journey in Washington, DC, according to his spokesperson Dennis Onyango, where he will meet with members of the Black Congressional Caucus and other US leaders.

Odinga will then travel to San Francisco, according to Onyango, but his whole itinerary is still being finalized.

Odinga's entourage will include Narc Kenya head Martha Karua, Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, his Kisii counterpart James Ongwae (Kisii), former Aldai MP Sally Kosgey, Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang, and Kathiani MP Robert Mbui.

The entourage is expected to return on Friday, April 29.

Odinga's visit comes less than a month after a week-long visit to the United Kingdom.

He held significant meetings and delivered speeches at the Commonwealth Secretariat and Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs.

At Lambeth Palace in London, he also met the Archbishop of Canterbury, Reverend Justin Welby.
