Taking to her Twitter account, Omanga has defended President Ruto urging Kenyans to be patient with his government. She also encouraged Kenyans that the prices of the various commodities including fuel and electricity would soon stabilize.

"The prices of basic commodities including fuel & electricity will stabilize in due course," Omanga tweeted.

According to Omanga President Ruto inherited a high dependency unit (HDU) from former President Uhuru Kenyatta and will take some time for President Ruto to deal with the situation in the country.

"Remember President William Ruto was handed an economy in High Dependency Unit (HDU), and Rome didn't flourish in a day," Omanga stated.

"I can assure u that soon everything will be fine! Trust the process," Omanga added.

Energy Petroleum and Regulatory Authority (EPRA) Director General Daniel Kiptoo stated on September 14 following the increase in fuel prices that the government planned to diversify investment in fuel and electricity to cushion Kenyans from inflation pressure.

He also argued that President William Ruto's plan to suspend the subsidy program was unsustainable. According to Kiptoo, the program was created to help Kenyans, particularly during the pandemic.

The energy stakeholders are negotiating with the government to lower the taxation regime, according to EPRA Director General. He noted that this would help to replace the subsidy program, which the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had previously stated was unsustainable.
Kiptoo also revealed that the government intends to construct infrastructure to harness wind and solar power. This will assist the country in diversifying its energy sources, reducing pressure on electricity production.

According to the most recent review, Super Petrol has reached a record high of Ksh179.30 per liter. In Nairobi, diesel will cost Ksh165, while kerosene will cost Ksh147.94, a Ksh20 increase.
