Ruto Joins Mutunga & Maraga in Calling President Uhuru to Respect the Law

DP William Ruto on Thursday, June 10th, supported both retired CJ Maraga and his counterpart Willy Mutunga in his take on upholding the constitution by the President.

According to DP Ruto while referring to President Uhuru and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, the constitution had given all officers enough powers to carry out their work.  

The second in command was speaking to Kiambu leaders from his Karen home when he reiterated that the constitution needed to be respected and the rule of law adhered to.

Ruto showed he was not in agreement with his boss, President Kenyatta, who has recently been accused of seizing powers belonging to independent decisions such as the JSC and the courts. 

The Deputy President’s sentiments echoed those of retired CJ Mutunga who wrote a letter to the Head of State saying that resignation was an option for all public servants who did not follow the constitution to the latter.
