Safari Rally Driver Tejveer Rai Airlifted to Nairobi for Medical Checkup

Tejveer Rai and his co-driver Gareth Dawe who were involved in an accident while on a race in Naivasha on Friday, June 25th have been airlifted to Nairobi for a medical checkup even though they didn't suffer any physical harm.

The Kabras crew competitors crashed out of World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally after their monster R5 rolled several times at Kedong hours after commencing the game.

More details have revealed that Tej is a Kenyan and is the younger brother of Menengai Oils Team driver Onkar Rai.

The crash comes barely a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta flagged off the 2021 World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally on Thursday, June 24th at the KICC in Nairobi.

However, the Kenya Safari Rally is the 6th round of the 2021 World Rally Championship and has attracted 58 entrants from across the entire world.

The last time Kenya participated in the World Rally Championship was in 2002.
