Sakaja`s Degrees Papers Elicits Mixed Reactions on Social Media

This is after the independent and electoral boundaries commission{IEBC} gave him up to Monday 13th at noon to respond to his degree questions.

Sakaja had earlier stated that he had graduated from the University of Nairobi in actual science. a

"I graduated from the University of Nairobi with an Actuarial Science Degree in 2007. I have never studied outside Kenya..." he said

On the same issue, UON responded stating that Sakaja was a student at the institution but hadn't his education.

"Sakaja is still a student and hasn't completed his degree course" UON stated.

However, the judgment was made by Titus Tiego, chair of the IEBC Dispute Resolution Committee, who granted Sakaja's lawyer Adrian Kamotho's request for more time to file the evidence. One of the IEBC commissioners should also resign from the hearing, according to the Senator.

Senator Sakaja's IEBC clearance was canceled due to faulty academic certificates, according to the four petitions filed against him.

“I urge this tribunal to give me more time to file a formal application seeking to have one of three members of the IEBC tribunal recuse himself and also to answer the allegations filed against Sakaja,” the lawyer urged the tribunal.

One of the petitioners, Dennis Gakuu Wahome e wanted senators Sakaja kicked out of the Nairobi Gibernatirial race due to forged papers.

“The respondent has demonstrated fraud and forgeries that have the potential to erode the public confidence in and diminish the integrity of qualifications in Uganda and Kenyan degrees both regionally as well as globally,” Wahome stated in his petition.

The controversies surrounding Sakaja's degree have brought mixed reactions from social media users with some stating that from Sakaja`s papers he joined UON in 2003.
