Officers have arrested the Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei for allegedly intimidating IEBC officials at the Kabuchai Constituency by-elections.

Cherargei was arrested alongside other parliament representatives Didmus Barasa, Wilson Kogo, and Nelson Koech. The four are cooling heels at Bungoma Police station awaiting further interrogations.

At the same, the legislators have denied accusations that they had weapons in their vehicles, ready to initiate chaos and disrupt the voting exercise.

The four were arrested while escorting the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Evans Kakai while on his way to cast his vote.
