This is following the recent transfer of Eldoret High Court Judge Stephen Githinji who has been handling the case.

The case came up for mention at the Eldoret court on Wednesday where it was directed that it be deferred to November 3, 2021 – when it will be mentioned under a new judge.

Evans Wanjala had already taken a plea in the case in which he is accused of killing three girls on diverse dates in several parts of Uasin Gishu County.

Despite leading the police to areas in which he claimed he buried the girls he had killed, the accused denied all the charges against him.

He is accused of killing Staicy Achieng in Soy between December 31, 2017, and January 1, 2020, Linda Cherono in Moi’s Bridge between June 11 and 15 this year, and Mary Eruza at Tuiyabei in Soy, between December 15 and 16, 2020.

Detectives are also preparing charge sheets for two other killings in Machakos and Kajiado linked to the serial killer Evans Wanjala who was arrested in July 2021.

He had applied for bail but the court rejected it.
