Several County Government Officers Sent on Compulsory Leave in Homabay

Homa Bay Governor, Gladys Wanga has issued a press release today that has sent all senior County Government human resource managers on compulsory leave.

In accordance with the released statement, the county government officers were dispatched in response to public complaints and numerous allegations of irregularities and ethical concerns pertaining to the recruitment of workers in the county government offices.

"Following complaints by the public and several allegations of irregularities and ethical issues touching on recruitment of staff in the county government of Homabay," part of the statement read.

The compulsory leave will also give room for investigations to be conducted in order to clarify the matter.

The following officers have fallen victim to the measures taken by the government.;

  1. Lameck Ogot- Director Recruitment & Selection
  2. Boaz Nyagute- Ag. Administrator CPSB
  3. Linet Oguda- Secretary to the CEO CPSB
  4. Charles Auma Modi- Director of Human Resource Management
  5. Solomon Ochogo- Ag. Payroll Manager
  6. Alfred Okumu Chuchu- Ag. Director HR
  7. Dancun Akecha- Human Resources Officer
  8. Winfred Otieno Awour- Director ECD, Department of Education & ICT.

The above-listed officers will not be allowed to access any of the Homabay County government records or premises as investigations will be underway.

This comes after she declared that she would make leadership changes in the county government as part of her plans to improve service delivery to residents.

The governor stated that the adjustments were in keeping with the change in administration and government policy to increase governance and service delivery and that they mostly affected personnel working in the finance department.

As the governor announced that more adjustments would be made in the upcoming days before her government was fully established, several of the officials were transferred from their current posts to other departments.
