Spanish man Detained for Killing and Eating his Mother
A Spanish man has been jailed for 15 years and 5 months for killing and eating his mother at their Apartment in Madrid.

Alberto Sanchez Gomez killed his mother, cut her, and ate her for a period not less than 15 days in early 2019, as per the Madrid Provincial court statement published on Tuesday.
Sanchez who is now 28, was arrested in February 2019 and his trial started in April. He was sentenced to 15 years for murder and 5 months for the defilement of the corpse.
In addition to the 15 years and 5 months of detention, the court ruled that he will pay 60,000 Euros to his mother after rejecting the defense plea that Sanchez was "Psychologically Disturbed".
The mother, not named in the court statement, has been identified by the local media as Maria Soledad Gomez.
The Victim's remains were found in Tupperware boxes by the officer after the disappearance of Maria Gomez for a month; Spain's National Police tweeted.
Sanchez fought his mother to death after an argument; as per the document sent to CNN by the Madrid Persecutor's Office at the start of the trial.
The document stated that he cut the mother using Carpenter's saw and two kitchen knives; he had some of the pieces in the freezer and some thrown in the trash in the plastic bags.
Sanchez has been dubbed the "Cannibal of Las Ventas" by the local media.
