Juventus inflicted Thomas Tuchel only his 2nd UEFA defeat at the Blues as Juve beat Chelsea 1-0 late last night.
Similar to the weekend PL tie against City, the Blues rarely thwarted the Old Lady backline despite a lion share of possesion falling to them and other than a Lukaku save Szczęny had a comfortable tenure at goal last night. Acquisition of Lukaku was meant to slove Chelseas attack deficiency but his chances were nullified by a dominant Juve midfield and a fearless Leonard Bonucci.
Tuchel tried to spice things up by bringing on Trevor Chalobah, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson Odoi and Ross Barkley but to no avail as Juve remained impact. The result means Italian woos continueas Chelsea have only won once in 8 games against an Italian side since the turn of the century.
