Supreme Court Permits Raila Access to Ballot Boxes of These 15 Polling Stations'
In a ruling ordered by the Supreme Court, Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate, Rail Odinga has been granted access to the recounting of ballot boxes from 15 polling stations.
The Supreme Court of Kenya noted that ballot boxes for 15 polling stations will be opened for inspection and recounted, within 48 hours. The IEBC was offered from Tuesday, August 30, 2 PM, to Thursday, September 1, 2 PM.
The court further ordered the IEBC to deliver all ballot boxes from the 15 voting places to the Court and parties for examination, review, and recount.
The following polling stations will have their ballot boxes recounted:
- Belgut- Kericho County
- Nandi Hills- Nandi County
- Sinendeti Primary School- Nandi County
- Kapsuser- Kericho County
- Jomvi- Mombasa County
- Mikindani- Mombasa County
- Ministry of water tanks-Mombasa County
- Jarok- Nyandarua County
- Gathanji- Nyandarua County
- Kiheo Primary School- Nyandarua County
- Majengo Primary School- Mombasa County
- Mvita Primary School- Mombasa County
- Chepkutum Primary School- Kericho County
- Mvita Primary School- Mombasa County
- Tinderet CONMO Primary School- Nandi County
SCOK was responding to a Notice of Motion filed by Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua in an effort to overturn the election victory of William Ruto.
All physical and digital (public portal) forms 34B for the 289 constituencies must be sent to the court by the IEBC for inspection, according to the supreme court's ruling.
