Tabitha Karanja Reveals New Details In Tecra Muigai Death Case
Testifying in court on Tuesday, March 9, Karanja called for justice following the death of Muigai in April 2020.

Keroche Breweries Chief Executive Officer Tabitha Karanja has revealed that her late daughter Tecra Muigai transferred money of unknown amounts to the accounts of her boyfriend Omar Lali.
Testifying in court on Tuesday, March 9, Karanja called for justice following the death of Muigai in April 2020.
Karanja however admitted to finding it unorthodox for Tecra to be covering bills to Lali as she was the younger one in the relationship.
Another witness, Peter Kariuki, who stated that he was a friend of the family, recalled a trip to Mt Kenya region during which he alleged that Lali got agitated.
Kariuki added that Lali would become uneasy whenever a stranger joined the couple. He added that he met the couple about three or four times and that there was an argument at every one of those times.
The witness, who works at a restaurant in Naivasha, further revealed that Tecra was picked up for a trip to the Mt Kenya region and proceeded to Meru National Park in October 2020.
"We all stayed at a hotel. Omar was very agitated but they calmed him down and had fun," he stated.
The witness said one Cheruiyot, Tecra's driver, intervened on many occasions in disputes between the two. He would, a few minutes later, see Tecra and Omar in the company of Cheruiyot.
He believed that matters might have cooled down but Lali was forced to distance himself.
“Omar eventually came to our table and they had another argument. I am not sure whether it was a jealousy issue. It was the first time I saw Omar grab Roy, a friend. Tecra intervened.”
The following day, Kariuki tried to reach out to Tecra, who told him that they had been having many arguments.
“Most of the arguments were on why Omar was not listening to her or why he did not want anybody around her,” he said.
“She went on to tell me that a week or two before, they had been on a trip to Tanzania, where Omar got into a terrible argument with her brother, that almost led into a fight. The working relationship with the driver changed. I would add that all her relationships and friends changed when he came into her life.”
Tecra died of injuries sustained on the left side of the head. She was believed to have fallen off the stairs of a private house in Lamu where she was staying with Lali.
Until her demise, Tecra was the Strategy and Innovation Director at Keroche Breweries. Lali was arrested in connection with her death but was freed on May 27, 2020.
