Tasty Wet Fry Beef Liver Recipe
Liver is a great source of iron. This is an interesting recipe on how you can prepare a dish of flavorful wet fry beef liver
½ kg of beef liver
2 large onions
2 tomatoes chopped
1 green bell pepper
2 tbsp of tomato paste
4 cloves of garlic
½ tsp fresh ginger
2 tsp of curry powder
½ tsp turmeric
2 beef cubes
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
½ tsp black pepper
Bunch of coriander leaves
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 cup of water
Mix the liver with the flour and lemon juice as the flour makes it slightly crunchy and thickens the wet fry while lemon juice gets rid of the bloody smell
Place the liver on a pan and cook until it gets caramelised bits
Remove the cooked liver and set it aside.
Add a tablespoon of vegetables, add onions and sauté until softened and translucent.
Add in the crushed ginger and garlic and cook until fragrant.
Add in the curry powder, turmeric, and black pepper, then add the chopped tomatoes, green bell pepper, and tomato paste.
Cover and let the tomatoes cook and soften then add the liver back then allow it to cook through.
Add in the cup of water and the beef cubes then stir until everything is well combined
Cover and let it simmer until the sauce thickens
Garnish with dhania and serve hot with rice or ugali or chapati
