Ukur Yatani, Kenya’s Treasury Cabinet Secretary, said the IMF’s positive outlook for the country’s economy comes after a review of the country’s three-year economic program. The program, according to the secretary, enables a ring-fencing structure on spending, especially on social financing and support for those affected by calamities such as drought. The IMF applauds the country’s efforts to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The IMF attributes incoming economic revitalization to a number of factors, key among them, the country’s vaccination endeavors.
