Appearing in Parliament on Wednesday, the CS said that as a public servant and the CS in charge of security in the country, most of the debate going on about the issue of downgrading and anyone talking about it is actually showing measures of very frustrating ignorance.

Matiangi said that many people who are talking and debating about the issues of the Deputy President's security do not understand the entirety of the formation of the police service which includes the strengths, capacities, and training within the service adding that those are pure propaganda.

"I want to state here again categorically for the record, there has not been any downgrade of the security of the Deputy President period, so these banding words around here honestly is not fair," Said CS Fred Matiangi.
CS Matiangi further stated that the residence of the Deputy President is neither a state lodge nor a statehouse that needs to be guarded by the GSU.
