Three Test Positive For Indian Covid in Mombasa
Mombasa County has issued an alert of the highly infectious Indian variant of Covid-19 after three people testing positive from the virus.

From the patients, one is a Kenyan who had flown to India on a medical assignment, while the other was an Indian national working in Kenya.
It’s said two of the three patients arrived in the country between April 18 and 19 through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and it’s unclear how they managed to arrive in Mombasa considering the presidential directive that restricted movement in and out of Nairobi.
The two began showing symptoms of the B.1.617 Covid strain days after arriving who later tested positive for the Indian variant from their sample test by Kemri in Kilifi.
The third case is from an individual who had traveled with a sick patient to Mombasa.
