Dr. Kogos says her department will also ensure traders get space for running their businesses.

"Our agenda is to have a well-structured plan. Eldoret is aspiring to be a City, and therefore there must be a realignment in planning. We are working on setting up back street spaces to accommodate all our small traders in running their businesses," said the CECM.

She was speaking when she represented Governor Jackson Mandago in consoling with the family of Mr. David Mburu, the chairman of Eldoret hawkers Association in Shauri estate, Turbo Sub County.

Mburu expressed his gratitude to the county for creating a conducive working environment for traders.

"We are so grateful to our able Governor Jackson Mandago, for considering small traders in his administration. We are able to run our businesses without interference, thanks to our Governor,” he said.

Under the leadership of Governor Jackson Mandago, traders have been grouped in SACCO'S for ease of management, further creating a firm collaboration between the county and traders.

"Our business as a department is to ensure hawking industry thrives well in Uasin Gishu," said Director for Revenue Management CPA. Jonah Lamai.
