Leicester City is reportedly looking for Burnley’s defender James Tarkowski whom they want to sign him in the next summer transfer window.

Transfer news: Leicester City is eyeing Burnley’s defender James Tarkowski.

This comes after his spectacular performance in the last season. In the 2019/20 season, the Foxes failed to secure his signature after being unable to meet Burnley’s £50 million asking price.

Leicester’s defense was affected during the season, with Jonny Evans, Wesley Fofana, and Caglar Soyuncu all missing considerable time.

As this development continue take course Burnley’s management is persuading Tarkowski to extend his contract, which is slated to expire in the summer of 2022.

“We have open lines of communication with him and his agent, as we do with all the players, and as far as I’m concerned he’s a Burnley player,” Burnley’s coach Sean Dyche recently revealed.

“Contractual situations are private and personal, or they should be, they’re often not, but he’s been fantastic. He (Tarkowski) knows my thoughts on his future here, he knows I want him here. He knows his contract is where it is, everyone knows that, but he’ll be here as far as I’m concerned, it’s simple.

“If someone wants to write a cheque for an immeasurable amount then that might be different, but at the moment he’s a Burnley player, and he’s done very well again for us this season. He’s a quality player.”

It is wait and see for Leicester City this time round to whether they can bring him to King Power Stadium next season in a bid to strengthen its centre-back and secure Champions League slot next season, having in mind that Wes Morgan has retired from football. Its football director Jon Rudkin should invest in him in order to persuade the defender into his side.
