Two Air-France Pilots Suspended for Fighting while in Cockpit

Following reports of punches being exchanged while piloting a plane, two Air-France pilots have been suspended.

Two Air-France Pilots Suspended for Fighting while in Cockpit

The pilot and co-pilot allegedly got into a violent argument in the cockpit while flying an Airbus A320 from Geneva to Paris in June, as reported by the Swiss news outlet La Tribune.

The event had no impact on the flight, Air France further affirmed.

This ban comes barely a fortnight after Ethiopian Airlines also imposed a similar one last week on the flight's crew after reports surfaced that both of the pilots dozed off and missed their landing window in Addis Abeba.

Eventually, the jet made a safe landing, but according to experts, the incident sparked concerns about pilot exhaustion at the airline, which is the biggest airline in Africa.

The crew had been "removed from operation awaiting further inquiry," according to Ethiopian Airlines. Depending on how the investigation turns out, the appropriate corrective action will be done. Our first goal has always been and will remain safe.

On January 20 18 a similar incident occurred in India. This was a private Indian airline said in a statement that it had "terminated services of both the cockpit crew both a man and a woman with immediate effect".

However, the alleged fight occurred mid-air on 1 January. The flight carrying 324 passengers landed safely in Mumbai.

The incident allegedly took place after the male pilot allegedly smacked the female pilot, according to accounts in Indian media that included eyewitnesses.

According to reports, the woman left the cockpit in tears but was later convinced to return by her coworkers.

The area where the pilot and co-pilot control the aircraft is known as the cockpit. The cockpit's two primary purposes are to give the pilot an excellent view and to make all control elements easily accessible to them. The same principles that guide the design of all vehicles also apply to airplanes.
