Two Brothers Killed After A Night Out

Police are investigating an incident where two brothers aged 26 and 24 years old were killed by unidentified assailants in Nairobi's Kamulu neighborhood.

Two Brothers Killed After A Night Out

Johnson Karuga and Kevin Kimani died after spending the evening watching a football game at a well-known Kamulu bar.

The two met up at the bar after Kimani, a mitumba vendor in Nairobi, visited his hardware-dealing sibling in Kamulu.

Family spokesman Karuga Ngigi claims that the two got into a fight with bar security, who allegedly called in Boda Boda riders from the neighborhood to confront them.

“We have been informed that it is after an altercation that the security contacted boda boda operators who trailed Karuga and Kevin and beat them senselessly a few meters from the club. Unfortunately, the two boys succumbed to the injuries,” said Ngigi.

The event was reported to the local Kamulu Police Station, who then transported the two bodies to City Mortuary.

Family members tried calling the two for several days before getting concerned when Kimani's friends phoned them to ask if he had returned home.

Two family members were sent to Kamulu to find out where they were since they were worried. The two were informed that police had picked up two unidentified bodies and transferred them to the City Mortuary.

The family later recognized the bodies as belonging to the two brothers. The family is distressed by the incident and is awaiting an autopsy before the burial.

Police have reportedly taken up the case and are following up on important leads but are yet to make arrests.
