Two More Lions Test Positive For The Deadly Indian Covid-19 Variant

As the planet continues battling the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indian variant has become the most virulent. As the Indian government continues to seek foreign assistance to help its citizens from this virus who has affected almost a third of its population, the virus has now trespassed the boundaries and affected its wildlife. According to a report released earlier today, three more lions have tested positive at the Indian Safari Park in Etawah Park in the Northern part of the country.

This comes few days after five lions had tested positive in Nehru Park. According to the zoologist, unusual fatigue was noticed in the lions who were examined and exhibited high temperatures. After the COVID-19 test was carried out, the lions' results turned out to be positive. These two lions have now been put into isolation under great care by zoological experts while visits to the affected parks have been banned. Transmission between humans and lions and vice versa had not been scientifically proven.
