Two key suspects have been detained in relation to the murder of a 26-year-old woman, whose body was discovered in her Mowlem home, Nairobi, with a cloth stuffed in her mouth.

According to reports, the primary suspect in the murder has admitted to the crime and the deceased's cellphone was discovered to be in the possession of a second suspect.

Police believe she was strangled during the April 12 incident, as her body was discovered with physical injuries to the neck.

A piece of clothing, t-shirt, was shoved into her mouth, and there were hints of rape prior to the murder.

According to police investigations, the deceased's boyfriend discovered her dead body when he got home at approximately 8 p.m.

James Mugera, the head of the Nairobi police, claimed that the primary suspect was on that day spotted leaving the house at around 4 p.m.

Detectives have discovered that the deceased first told his boyfriend that the suspect had once tried to rape her on a previous date.

According to police, the two suspects are being processed for a court appearance after being detained in Kayole.
