Uganda Cup 2021: BUL overcomes Kigezi Homeboyz to qualify for quarter finals.

The Jinja based BUL football club beat Kigezi Homeboyz 2-1 in a second leg match of the round of 16 fixture at the Kabale Municipal Stadium to qualify for quarter finals.

BUL won with an aggregate of 4-2 having won the first leg with the same score. Substites Musa Esenu and Owen Mukisa scored their goals in the second half to help propel their team to the last eight of the competition. Jonathan Mukisa scored the Homeboyz only goal.

Coach Alex Isabirye’s side who had earlier eliminated Black Power at the round of 32, will face the 2019 Cup winners Proline in the quarter final.

Proline beat Mbale Heroes 3-1 on aggregate to book their place in the quarter finals. They will play their first leg match at the MTN Omondi Stadium on Friday, 28 May 2021.

Other teams that qualified to the final eight contest include, Vipers, Sports Club Villa, Kampala Capital Authority (KCCA), Police, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and Wakiso Giants.

The first match of the quarter final which was played at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Tuesday between Vipers and Sports Club Villa ended in a 1-1 draw.

Substitutes Lawrence Tezikya scored for the Vipers while Ronald Ssekiganda scored a late equalizer for Sports Club.
