The President reportedly made a phone call to Jubilee vice-chairman David Murathe and read him the riot act over the outfit's dismal performance in the By-Election, specifically those held in his Mt Kenya backyard.

"He chased everyone at the statehouse. He told everyone to go home, arguing they were not telling him anything substantive. He said that going by the losses in the by-elections, they had failed in their assignments," a source revealed to The Standard.

The Head of State blamed Jubilee SG Raphael Tuju, vice-chair David Murathe, CAS State Law Office Winne Guchu, and other advisers.

According to another senior government official who maintained anonymity, he revealed that Uhuru did not want to see any of the leaders and was fed up with their 'lies'.

Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe, however, dismissed the matter and asked why DP Ruto’s UDA was 'obsessed' with competing with the president.

"This is politics. Bonchari, for instance, was not our seat. It belonged to The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The zone was Orange Democratic Movement's (ODM), and it won, so what is the big deal?" he posed.

Rurii Ward by-election in Nyandarua County was a tight two-horse race between Jubilee Party's candidate Peter Thinji and UDA’s aspirant Francis Muraya.

UDA’s Francis Muraya was declared the winner after getting 4,303 votes against Peter Thinji's who got 3,143 votes.

DP Ruto congratulated his foot soldiers for delivering the victory to his hustler nation.
