According to details from a local publication in the country, Heappey will express his sympathies to Wanjiru's family and friends as the inquiry into the case continues.

He will also meet representatives of the community in Nanyuki as part of his visit to the British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK).

Other details by Bright Kenya News indicate that the British Minister is expected to reassure Nanyuki locals of the United Kingdom's full support for the Kenyan Police investigation into the Wanjiru case.

However, local businesspeople, a representative of local sex workers, local NGOs, and county and national government delegations have all been invited to the meeting.

Agnes Wanjiru's body was found in a septic tank at the Lions Court Hotel, in Nanyuki, two months after she disappeared in March 2012.
